Thank you, Darryl! We all enjoyed the tour and your wonderful wealth of information. Your energy and enthusiasm for what you do inspires us to find our own passions!

We spent the day on the field, despite the morning’s light rain. The park is now amazingly well interpreted, and Darryl delivered a solid interpretation. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. If you are interested in exploring Perryville with Darryl, I suggest his new venture, Walking with History; or follow his own musings about the battle on his blog, Ohio at Perryville.
Thorough preparation, in-depth knowledge, and enthusiasm for history and hiking make "Walking With History" tours both enjoyable and educational. Highly recommended.

Darryl took a group from a Midwestern roundtable on a daylong tour of the Perryville battlefield, with additional time spent on sites outside the park boundaries. The group ranged from Perryville novices to folks with good knowledge, and the tour was highly satisfying to all. The novices got a great intro to the battle and campaign, and the more experienced ones now know even more. He focused on the terrain, which is critical at Perryville. Great tour!

Wanted to let you know that you superceded my expectations for the tour I took Saturday.

Thanks again for the great tour of Perryville. You really know the battlefield and its participants inside and out. Caleb and I marveled at how much you knew about the battle and some of the regiments and commanders. Caleb can't wait for another tour. In fact, his quote to me was, "If Darryl leads another tour elsewhere, can I go with you?"

Darryl, you did a great job with the tour of Perryville and showed outstanding knowledge of what took place during the battle. Combined with the hiking and despite the rain, Saturday was a great day on a Civil War battlefield. A special thanks for a great tour which piqued my interest to learn more about the battle.
